What is Religious Liberty?
Religious liberty is the fundamental human right to choose, practice, and share one’s faith—or to have no faith at all—without coercion, discrimination, or persecution.
As Seventh-day Adventists, we have historically upheld religious freedom for all people, regardless of belief. We believe that faith must be freely chosen to be genuine, and that government should neither compel religious practice nor restrict the peaceful expression of conscience.
Our commitment extends beyond our own denomination. We affirm the right of every individual to worship according to conscience, because religious liberty is meaningful only when it exists for everyone.
